When we have completed travel changing mat we should go for it and sew a matching travel pouch for the baby hygiene items we need.

changing mat 8Using same materials (except plastic sheet as we will not need it now) I have prepared shapes in the size to fit in few diapers, baby powder, cream and wet wipes.

I have sewn on all of prepared decorations. Then I have attached material to pieces of blanket left over from previous projects. This will make our pouch stronger and long lasting. I have connected all 5 sides of it for desired shape.

Once I have turned it on the right side I have sewn through the side edges.

But I have left the bottom of it so it will keep it’s full shape.

Next step is lining.

I have cut similar size of fabric to fit in the pouch. And I sew it on 3 sides leaving one of longer sides open.

changing mat 14Then I have flatten bottom part and sewn at each end to shape it.

Now we have to fit lining which is on it’s left side on top of pouch which is on its right side and pin it in.

Sew it all around leaving about 10 cm break so you can turn it all thru it and push lining inside of the pouch which now should be on it’s right side.

changing mat 19Stich again around the edge closing this remaining 10 cm and break will become invisible.

Now we have to add a zipper. Be careful, make sure zipper is long enough to close all up from end to end.
