When we have completed travel changing mat we should go for it and sew a matching travel pouch for the baby hygiene items we need.
Using same materials (except plastic sheet as we will not need it now) I have prepared shapes in the size to fit in few diapers, baby powder, cream and wet wipes.
I have sewn on all of prepared decorations. Then I have attached material to pieces of blanket left over from previous projects. This will make our pouch stronger and long lasting. I have connected all 5 sides of it for desired shape.
Once I have turned it on the right side I have sewn through the side edges.
But I have left the bottom of it so it will keep it’s full shape.
Next step is lining.
I have cut similar size of fabric to fit in the pouch. And I sew it on 3 sides leaving one of longer sides open.
Then I have flatten bottom part and sewn at each end to shape it.
Now we have to fit lining which is on it’s left side on top of pouch which is on its right side and pin it in.
Sew it all around leaving about 10 cm break so you can turn it all thru it and push lining inside of the pouch which now should be on it’s right side.
Stich again around the edge closing this remaining 10 cm and break will become invisible.
Now we have to add a zipper. Be careful, make sure zipper is long enough to close all up from end to end.
Final stich on each side and viola! e have our beautiful travel changing mat and travel pouch ready to use.
Another essential of our Nursery, Travel Changing Mat!
We will need some fabric, an old piece of blanket to put it inside for softness, double folded finishing tape to sew all around, piece of elastic, bottom and plastic sheet. You could purchased it in the local fabric store but I have decided to use a shower curtain from “dollar” store. Much cheaper and result is the same.
Now you need to plan your design. Use your imagination or follow a similar pattern and use pieces of fabrics which we have used for our previous Nursery projects.
My changing mat will be round on one end and square on the other. I have added decorations on the top end which will be outside of pouch after folding it up.
Then I have sewn it on the piece of blanket with same shape. Next step is the plastic sheet. I have double folded the sheet on the edges for better hold. I had to sew it piece by piece, side by side as the plastic did sleep on the fabrics and it did no look good. But no worries! That is why we have double folded finishing tape to cover all those imperfections.
I have also added two lines of stitching across in the places where mat suppose to break down for folding it.
After I have covered edges with finishing tape I have cut off all the extra pieces of plastic sheet which were still sticking out on the top. Then added bottom and elastic band to hook it up when needed.
That is it! Our brand new, unique travel changing mat is complete.
I didn’t have a chance to show you my latest landscape oil painting. I have used my friend’s photo from New Zealand and I have titled this painting “Peaceful beach – New Zealand“.
I have already presented it on Muslim Fest 2014 and a great idea came to my head! How about I will give myself 5 days challenge! 5 paintings in 5 days! I would have to use acrylic instead of oil paints for fast dry.
I’m very exited already. I have decided to make 5 landscapes as I don’t have many of those and all 5 will go in to my on-line shop.
Yes, you did read correctly. I’m going to activate my on-line shop and slowly grow number of items for sale.
New Zealand landscape and Sunflower which I painted recently are going on sale first.
Today was a very special day to celebrate! Parya had her 7th birthday.
Happy Birthday sweet Parya! We all love you very much and wish you lots of smile and only sunny days in your life.
We had so much fun on your birthday party! We are sending great thanks to all who came over or called with wishes.
Welcome to 2014 Muslim Fest presentation.
It was so amazing to be here again and experience so big event and exposure.
All of the artists worked hard to prepare fantastic art and present it in best possible way. My only complain would be space usage on the exhibit. We were limited to 5 items of art only but there was actually much more space which could be used and we could easily fit in 7 or 8 pieces each. I think it is going to be my recommendation for next year.
Kids section shined with Parya’s artwork which made us very proud!
I was so happy to see interest in my paintings. Business cards were disappearing from the table. I hope that all of you who have pick them up will be my new viewers on line.
Exhibit was an exiting event and I’m thinking already what to show next year.
See you again on Muslim Fest and for those who didn’t make it this year please try in 2015, you are going to love it.
